Intuitive usage is a worthy goal because it helps users get things done by minimizing the intermediate step of figuring out how things work.
Clutter stands in the way of achieving this goal. Web pages usually contain too much stuff, including words, links, ads, images and computer code.
With each additional web page element comes a marginal loss of focus, and a decrease in the utility and usability of the entire product.
